Getting the most out of your XBOX 360

Want to know some tricks for getting the most from your 360? Maybe you have some of your own to share. This thread is meant to share knowledge of tips & tricks with other users.

1.- Media(pics, music, video) sharing. Most users have a home network in place. Some people think the only way to share media is with a Media Center PC. This is not the case. A simple update to windows media player will do the job. Instructions can be found here(link).

2.- Share your DLC. All DLC comes with DRM which links purchased items to the console and Gamertag used to purchase them. This means the games you buy are only available to you, right? Not exactly. The original console(the one used to purchase) can access the content regardless of who is signed in(or not signed in) to XBL. This is why I purchase all my DLC on my better half's console instead of my own. She can play it on the original purchase console as if it were her DLC while since I used my Gamertag to make the purchase, I have rights to play it on any console(while signed in to XBL).

3.- Install your games to HDD. This is a simple one. Install the game to avoid wear and tear on your disc drive while playing. Some games (Halo3) DO NOT recommend this but for the most part this can quiet your 360 and avoid high temperatures to the unit itself.

4.- Join GLG. This wonderful user base has a wealth of knowledge on many gaming and non-gaming subjects. Not to mention quality people.... oh, and King also.

Enjoy your 360, I know I do. Game on....
